This is a piece that undulates across the panel with a sinuous or wavelike motion. The mounds and valleys stand out from the panel so that it is three dimensionals.

This painting was published in the 142 edition (December 2021-January 2022) of the International Artist Magazine as a finalist in their Abstract Competition.
The brilliant colors and sense of movement in this piece make it seem to be emerging, evolving, off the canvas. Like we evolve in life and move on to our next chapter.

Coming Out
Acrylic Flow on Canvas, 30x40”
A PBS special covered conversion camps; attempts to crush a young person’s life without appreciating all that exists only exists because it is a natural option in nature. I became furious expressing my feelings in this piece. No mouth - just be quiet - that’s not normal or natural.

The Artist Life
15” x 30” acrylic on canvas
This piece was inspired and painted while listening to The Artist Life by Strauss. He is one of my favorite composers. This piece reflects an artist’s life; dark and isolated and then rising in a blaze of bold color and celebration.
Effusion
30” x 48” acrylic on canvas
This piece is distinguished by the metallic copper color integrated along with the shades of blue lending a crispness to the image overall.
Come Here. . .
15” x 30” acrylic on canvas
The piece was juried as Best of Show at the Rancho Cordova City Hall Black & White Plue One Show. Being a romantic, this image captures for me a gesture of love and passion in simple but elegant terms.
Fall brings beautiful colors that highlight nature as it dresses for the holidays. With the snow comes the end of fall colors, but the richness of the winter draped snow cleanses the planet for a new spring.

Smoking Man
36’ x 48” acrylic on canvas
You remember X-Files and the smoking man . . . this isn’t him. This surfaced on a laid back evening while I was free style painting and suddenly he introduced himself to me on the canvas.

This is a juried gallery show winner. You can feel the rhythm in this piece as the color seems to roll along together . My painting to music seems to have clearly affected brush movement.

Serenity - yes, peace. Visual beauty and subtle color is soothing for the soul. This piece is part of my Soothing series and I just love it.

Byrd
36” x 48” acrylic & enamel on canvas
This was fun to paint. The many layers present as shadows behind a mist and serve to highlight the enamel color spots that glisten in light.
Devi'l’s Cove south of Yachats, Oregon is a spectacular meeting of ocean and cave embedded in the rock lined shore. When I was there I leaned over as far as possible, what an incredible site and feeling. This piece is covered in fabulous and rich texture, peaked and rough - like the waves that crash into the cove.

There were six girls in my family and three boys. My sister, Lorraine, loves horses - she loves all animals. After a trip visiting her, this image was persistent and landed on my canvas. Can you hear the hoof beat?
I love any show on the universe. Watching shows on the Hubble, the Voyager, etc. always provides a sense of peace for me. I recognize how arbitrary rules of culture & society are, how small we are, how important it is to put things into perspective - and that means, enjoy your life NOW.
Mist

The Storms That Rage Thru Our Mind
20” x 36” acrylic on canvas
The image of the man’s face is distinct and emerged demanding to be predominant in this piece. Our eyes may be looking straight ahead, but our thoughts, powerful and often willful, like the image, demand our attention.
With the movement in this piece, its as if you feel the breeze hat and thick, but a breeze just the same, swooshing over the water on a summer day.
